Fun filled toddlers

Squealing with delight, running

To put birds to flight.

Mum's done at work so

Off she dashes, home in time

For bathtime splashes.

Bedtime stories read,

Night time prayers said, tucked up

Tight in bed.  Goodnight.

Exhausted new mums

Hold girls or boys as new dads

Blink back tears of joy.

In Mum’s car, back seat:

Crisp packets, sticky sweets, socks,

Crocs and half a beach.

The braids in her hair

Show love and care from sisters

Who are always there.
