ON YOUR BIKE!
Beyond Fen Ditton
They do not roam, for it’s too
Far to cycle home.
Waggonways from old
Mines run down to the River
Tyne, walked and cycled.
Homes fit for heroes
Who cycle, raise children and
Grow vegetables.
They shall build houses
But they shall build bike paths too
And plant trees, and hope.
Fresh from the bike shop
Hum of new tyres, with smoothly
Shifting chain and wires.
Smooth flat cycle paths
Leisurely wending their way
Along flowing rivers.
Cycle lane, untouched
Snow, while tracks elsewhere show where
Cyclists really go.
